Near the beginning of the last decade of the last century, began to take shape in Santorini always Oinochori rooms a new type of dry white wine. Result of the latest knowledge and technology, the Estate Argyros was one of the first genuine exponents of this new tasis.

Vinification: b> Classic white vinification. 20% aged for 6 months in French oak barrels of 500 l.
Ethanol: b> 13.0% vol. Total acidity: b> 7.1 g / l aging Features: b> 6-8 years Serving: b> Harmonically a variety of dishes. We recommend lamb in vine leaves or fish ala spetsiota. Also delicacies like Santorini fava beans, fresh cheese and tomato. Serving: b> at 8-10 ° C

he 2011 Santorini “Estate” is Argyros’ oak-aged (only 20%, though) Assyrtiko. For all the feeling of depth and fullness on the first attack and power on the finish of this big Assyrtiko, the most remarkable thing about this wine is how it maintains its elegance. The oak is a footnote, adding a little persistence to the finish, but the wine overall is simply beautiful for its charm and balance. As it sits in the glass and warms, you can taste the oak a bit more. Neither the oak nor the wine is overly obvious. Now, granted that some (me included) would prefer wholly unoaked versions, I can’t let philosophy get in the way here and this bottling handles the modest oak brilliantly. This is a very fine vintage for Argyros up and down the line. Nicely done—this might yet be my favorite dry from Argyros. Drink now-2019. Βαθμολογία: 92/100
