7 wines, at the same time very same and so different, fron vineyards in seven Santorini villages (Vourvoulos, Pyrgos, Santorini's Megalochori, Imerovigli, Fira and Akrotiri) in a one 'package' that should not be ansent from any serious wine collection. The grapes were harvested at different times depending on the specificities of each village. For the record ... first were harvested grapes from Oia, latter from Imerovigli and Pyrgos. The wines remained for nearly a year on the their lees in stainless steel tanks before bottling. A rare opportunity for the Assyrtiko lovers to explore all aspects of vineyard terroirs. Typical features 'shout' Santorini, such as citrus, mineral character, high acidity and full body, occuring in all 'villages'! The stay on the lees has given extra volume and complexity. Despite their similarities the wines expressed differently, having acquired each its own personality. Oia appears fruity with intense mineral character already, Pyrgos more extrovert, with pleasant flower aromas, ande Vourvoulos the most elegant, Imerovigli although "shy" yet harmonious and elegant, Fira impresses with its delicacy, Megalochori urges you to enjoy it first, while Akrotiri wants his time but promising perhaps the most! Give them a few months yet to unfold their complex nature, and if you have the patience to wait a few more years, the result will certainly be very impressive.
A great group of wines to experience the Assyrtiko grape

So far I have tasted only only two of the seven wine, the one from Akrotira and the other from Oia. The Akrotira offering was outstanding, unquestionably better than any white I have ever tasted, including the best Chablis. The wonderful tingle of the tongue prepares you for superb, complex aromaa and long finish. The Oia wine was very similar but somewhat drier. All this in spite of the fact that it is said to benefit fro keeping. The problem is that, other than buying the seven, it is impossible to buy the wine again. However, I have ordered a case of what I hope and expect will be very similar as it is the same produce, same area, same grape and very similar alcohol. The reason I have given it 4 out of five for price is that delivery is expensive to the UK.

Dry white wines from 100% Assyrtiko grape, from vineyards in seven villages of Santorini(Akrotiri, Fira, Imerovigli, Megalochori Oia, Pyrgos and Vourvoulos). They remained on their lees for a year in stainless steel tanks. Amenable to large aging exceeding seven years. There have not been treated and / or stabilized.
