The recipe for Campari has not changed since 1860 when a bartender, Gaspare Campari, began crafting cocktails in his basement in Milan: a mix of equal parts alcohol, sugar syrup, distilled water, with the addition of orange juice, ginseng, and a blend of herbs, the origins of which are known only to the distillery manager. All of these combine to create Campari, a drink with global reach.
