An excellent representative of authentic strong dark ales. It has a deep brown color with orange hues and is strong, robust, and simultaneously harmonious. The nose is filled with dried and ripe fruits such as plums, cherries, blackberries, and black grapes, embraced by notes of spices, brown sugar, and plenty of caramel. The palate captivates the senses with the presence of fruit and rose, offering velvety moments with warmth and longevity. This is an aging beer that can be enjoyed at 10-12 degrees or at room temperature.

The brown Belgian belongs to a popular family, the Chimay beers. They are unique and belong to one of the 6 rare breweries allowed to bear the Trappist designation. According to Trappist legislation, Chimay beers are brewed in a brewery located within a monastery under the strict supervision of the monks. Specifically, we are at the Abbey of Notre-Dame Scourmont. The monks, to support this, created the first beer, Chimay premier (red), in 1862. After World War II, Brother Theodore revived the monastery and resumed brewing beer, inspired by the authentic recipe of the original brewery. Thus, in 1948, Chimay Red was released again, and in the same year, a Christmas beer was inaugurated which ultimately became Chimay Blue. The successful range was complemented in 1966 with the golden yellow Chimay White to complete the quality circle.
