Diplomatico Rum is the legacy of Jose Rafael Ballesteros Melendez. A rum distinct from all others. The sugarcane of Venezuela which has a very high sugar content, is the primary raw material for the production of Diplomatico. The raw material is initially distilled in continuous stills, and subsequently in pot stills to achieve a fuller and more flavorful result. Aging takes place for at least 2 years in barrels that have been used for bourbon, while in the last years, sherry casks are also used.
