- Varieties: 100% syrah Vineyards: Mountainous Achaea Dominant soil type: Sandy clay Average plant age: 12 years Yield per hectare: 600 kg/στρ (45hl/ha) Harvest dates: Early September Winemaking/Aging:Alcoholic fermentation and extraction in stainless steel tanks at 23˚C.Post-fermentation extraction at 20˚C.Total extraction time 15 days, carrying out and completing malolactic fermentation in barrels.Aging in 100% new oak barrels for 16 months, sur lie.Holding after bottling for 6 months in the winery's cellar. Organoleptic characteristics: Deep red color and almost opaque, indicative of the wine's density. The nose is rich with immediate contact with red fruits, such as raspberry, black cherry, and plum. The aromatic character is complemented by spicy notes, incredible intensity of black pepper, licorice, clove, thyme, bay leaves, notes of truffle, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the aromatic breadth, the wine's nerve, and the acidity are confirmed, with the ripe tannins accompanied by volume and complexity. Πολύ καλό syrah από το κτήμα Σκούρα, το οποίο είναι master στο Αγιωργήτικο. Όμορφη συμπύκνωση, ελαφρά μπαχαρένιο ωραίες τανίνες. Στα αρνητικά το κόστος του, υπάρχουν syrah ελλήνων παραγωγών εξίσου καλά από τα 12€.

Όχι κάτι ιδιαίτερο
Αγόρασα το εν λόγω syrah στο ίδιο το οινοποιείο και μου είπε ο υπάλληλος ότι είναι το καλύτερο syrah της Ελλάδας. Ε λοιπόν ούτε λίγο, ούτε κατά διάνοια. Πρόκειται για ένα μέτριο κρασί που με απογοήτευσε. Κρίμα γιατί είχα (μέχρι τώρα) και κάποια εκτίμηση στο συγκεκριμένο οινοποιείο. Είναι κατά πολύ κατώτερο από τα syrah των Βρυνιωτη, Μουντριχα, Κορωνιωτη αλλά και από τα Κρητικα syrah.
