Dimitris Mansolas and Maria Tamiolaki, two excellent winemakers, created Hetero Wines in 2018 with the aim of producing ‘diverse’ wines from various regions of Greece. Here we have a rare combination of two great indigenous varieties, grown in the plain of Domokos and kneaded with native yeasts. The tannic character of Xinomavro is tamed with just 8% Assyrtiko, with the acidity of both varieties being at high levels, while at the same time the wine impresses with the intensity and freshness of the fruit.
Its color is light purple. Its aroma is intense with plenty of fresh aromas of cherry, sour cherry and strawberry but also flowers such as lavender and rose along with some hints of citrus peel and cinnamon. In the mouth it is lively with high acidity, soft tannins, predominant red fruit flavors and a nice lasting aftertaste.
