The typical spicy flavors of the variety are more mature and sophisticated by adding Kefalonian Mavrodaphne that makes the blend of this wine unique. The acidity, in addition, gives nerve, "appetite" for adventurous taste combinations, and aging time.

The Syrah Gentilini is a wine that can stand next to a complex, spicy dishes with a focus on red meat, and promises a captivating taste combinations that will satisfy even the most discerning palates.

Varietal composition: Syrah (90%) and Mavrodaphne (10%)
Source: The Syrah comes from our vineyards that are organically grown in Minies Kefalonia. The yield per hectare does not exceed 400 kg / ha, and the soils are calcareous. The Mavrodaphne from mountain vineyards owned in Lixouri Kefalonia. The yield per hectare does not exceed 600 kg acre and the land is argilodi.
Vinification: All procedures performed on the family winemaking winery. The varieties processed separately and in the same manner. The grapes are separated from the bunches and berries are broken open fermented in stainless steel tanks. The juice is recycled every 4 hours so that peel always remain liquid. When the desired extraction of color and tannins, the stafylomaza pressed juice is passed in a closed stainless steel tanks to complete the alcoholic and the malolactic fermentation. Then the wine is transferred into small French oak barrels for maturation. After 7-8 months stay in wine barrels is the ultimate blend with Mavrodafni (up 10%) and bottled. The bottles remain for further aging, at least 16 months in underground cellars mas.
Tasting Notes: Deep red, dense, rich and fruity with intense notes of ripe fruit and spices (pepper), with good quality tannins and subtle presence xylou.
Harmony: Hunting, aged cheeses and rich Greek and international kouzina.
Can be over 5 years aging.

Medium-bodied Syrah

Typical of warm-climate reds, not as full-bodied as some Syrah (which can be an advantage). Deep plum colour, blackberry nose; rich prunes in the mouth, but with a delicate feel; a dusky aftertaste reminiscent of good Pinotage, but not unpleasant. Good for grilled meats and hard cheeses.
