Sweet, Still, White, Aidani, Assyrtiko, Athiri, Ages well, 13.5% alc.

Among wine-experts this is considered to be the best sweet wine all over Greece. After 20 years of ageing the wine displays a busting nose of caramel, toffee, sweet spices, dried fruits, citrus peel, lavender, thyme and whatever you can imagine. The palate is lusciously sweet, yet astonishingly vibrant, with amazing complexity and a never-ending aftertaste.

Producer Argyros
Producer's Description In the Cycladic area production of sweet wines from sun-dried grapes were the main traditional winemaking technique. Particularly in Santorini, because of the wealth of varietal grape and high quality raw material, this technique reached its apogee with the extremely sun-sweet wines Vinsanto.
From the 16th century we find writings describing the profitable trade of the island to Russia, based on the quality and reputation of Vinsanto but in the rare ability to withstand chrono.
The production process is painful, long and costly. But when after many years open barrels, appears Vinsanto sweet, complex, unique, exuberant, excellent. A rare krasi.
The Vinsanto produced 80% Assyrtiko, 10% Aidani 10% Athiri.

96/100 Deep walnut colour with a green tinge. Flavours of fig compote with spice and coffee beans. This wine is truly something that all wine lovers must experience at least once in their lives. Could age further and not lose its lustre. A concentrated elixir to sip slowly.
