Three wines, red, white and orange Methymnaeos, made from just one red variety, the rare Chidiriotiko. Winemaker Yannis Lambrou chooses classic red vinification techiques to produce red Methymnaeos, the most 'conventional' of his three wines. Moderately scented, with earthy minerality and hints of red fruit. Give it time in the glass to open up and unfold its distinct personality.
Moderate color with brick hues. Weak presence of red fruit, earthy notes reminiscent of leather and peppery minerality. Dry texture, as well as freshness combined with volume and tannins give the wine a solid structure. Moderate in length with an interesting aftertaste. A wine giving value to the concept of nativeness. Drink it over the next 2-8 years.

Varietal Composition: 100% Chidiriotiko grapes
Production Techniques: Fermentation lasts about three weeks. Wine ages in French oak for four months.
Characteristics: Ruby color. Bouquet typical of the Chidiriotiko grape, combining aromas of muscat, honey and red roses with tones of forest fruit and cinnamon. Lightly oaky. Distinct, earthy minerality, stemming from the volcanic soil of western Lesvos where the vines are grown.
Serving Suggestions: Serve at 16° C with lamb, pizza and all kinds of Mediterranean cuisine, western and oriental sweet and sour dishes, shellfish and crustaceans, as well as chocolate and chocolate-based confections.
