Distinct orange color resulting from the winemaking process. Aromas such as orange marmalade, tangerine and bergamot. Dry and full-bodied with rich texture and a balanced acidity. Medium intensity with a long, mineral finish. Special character, far from those, copy-paste 'recipes' available worldwide.

Producer Methymnaeos
Producer's Description Appellation: Protected Geographical Indication Lesvos

Varietal Composition: 100% Chidiriotiko grapes

Production Techniques: Fermentation without temperature control, instead of the temperature of 19° C applied to white Methymnaeos. The higher temperature gives to orange Methymnaeos its characteristic color, as well as more body than that of Methymnaeos white.

Characteristics: Orange color. Bouquet combines muscat with orange, both fresh and in the form of marmalade. Tannic, earthy ending with a strong minerality, originating from the volcanic soil of western Lesvos where our vines are grown.

Serving Suggestions:  Serve chilled as stand-alone wine or with salmon, duck and exotic, non-western dishes like sushi. Works well as an aperitif or after-dinner wine.

Methymnaios Orange
Review by Riccardo Albieri (Posted on 08/03/2021)

Bright orange in colour,
The nose gives hints of citrus fruit and apricot.
The mouthfeel has medium body with flavours of orange marmelade, figs jam and a long mineral aftertast.
Maybe the best of the three Chidiriotiko versions of this producer.

very different wine
