It is a fact that is a product of painstaking and careful work by the best raw material, and this seems the perfect balance of flavors, tannins and acidity that characterizes it. Producer Manoussakis
Producer's Description Varieties: Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache Rouge, Roussanne.
Territory: Shale, ammoargillopilodes at an altitude of 320-380 and 550-600 metron.
vineyard Configuration:
Syrah: Linear in double cordon Royat
Mourvedre: Linear in double cordon Royat
Grenache Rouge: Linear and cup double in string Royat.
Roussanne: cups, linear string in double Royat and simple Guyot.
Harvest: The harvest for each of the varieties become separate from 15 August until 10 Septemvriou.
Vinification: The red varieties Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache grown with care in our farm organic, vinified separately according to the classic method of red vinification at controlled temperature. The Syrah vinified in oak, while the Mourvedre and Grenache in anoxidotous open oinopoiites.
The extraction lasts from 12-25 days depending on the variety and after the wine is poured into barrels of French and American oak to 75% and 25% respectively. Inside the barrels and no malolactic fermentation the wine ages for 10 months. The barrels used for four years before antikastathoune.
Subsequently the blend is made by adding a small amount of white Roussanne.
Bottling: The Winery at MANOUSAKI winery in Vatolakkos Chanion.
To 1999 first released in the U.S. market the NOSTOS 1997. In the Greek market, first released in 2003, and NOSTOS 2000 2001.
Features - Description: Clear, very dark ruby ​​color with hints of purple indicating youth. Tears dense kai many which color the inside of the glass. Intense nose, complex, where the character of the black ripe fruit blends with discreet presence vareliou. A few notes of leather and a sleek fytikotitas that gives freshness. Mouth with volume and density, which are high but ripe tannins balanced with rich alcohol and a medium to high acidity. Complex aromas of mouth not only follow but they evolve the mytis. Really interesting and well done wine .
Maybe need more Cretan personalty .He feels more the hand of oenologist and less the sun the earth and the salt of Crete. In my opinion as soon as the parties will reverse this will become a top wine.
