Hetero Wines, created by Maria Tamiolaki and Dimitris Mansolas, describes its effort as ‘Gypsy Winemaking’, ie it produces wines in different regions of Greece that have been selected for their uniqueness and wine value. Here we have an amazing Assyrtiko from vineyards that are organically grown in Domokos, which ferments with the native yeasts, remains for 5 months with its fine lees as 50% of the wine enters oak barrels of second use. It very nicely combines the austerity of the variety with its friendliest characteristics when grown outside Santorini.

Its color is light gold with several green highlights. Its aroma is complex, with citrus like lemon and grapefruit and mineral elements dominating followed by peach and almond notes. In the mouth it is rich with the characteristic crisp acidity creating waves of freshness, appreciable saltiness, some honeyed touches make their appearance, while the aftertaste has an incredible duration. Undoubtedly a 'big' white wine that has the structure to evolve for at least a decade.

An interesting sophisticated white wine, made with passion and inspiration by Haridimos Hatzidakis. It is deep on the eye (golden yellow color) and on the nose, with strong herbal aromatic elements and honeysuckle notes, but also a rich body and accentuated acidity in the mouth.

A Single vineyard Chardonnay from the brand new Navitas winery of Maria Dimitriadis, located in Litochoro overlooking the 52 peaks of Olympus. A wonderful expression of the variety with crunchy acidity and intense character of citrus that brings to mind great wines from the cold Chablis. It is a certified vegan wine.

The new generation of the Hatzidakis winery does not stop its creation path by introducing a special single vineyard Santorini from 100% Assyrtiko that matures on its part with fine wine lees for 12 months while 30% rests in French oak barrels. Ariadni Hatzidaki designs the label while there are only 1700 bottles.

Assyrtiko is already making history having found its way to the world market and Charidimos Hatzidakis is among those who are raising the profile of the variety vertically. The most terroirist driven of the island's producers, chooses grapes from hundred-year-old vines, giving a softly oxidized style, unique to Assyrtiko after 24 months of aging in old barrels.
