Anarch Red 2019
Dry, Still, Red, Assyrtiko, Xinomavro, Keep for 2-3 years
€18.20 As low as €16.74Dimitris Mansolas and Maria Tamiolaki, two excellent winemakers, created Hetero Wines in 2018 with the aim of producing ‘diverse’ wines from various regions of Greece. Here we have a rare combination of two great indigenous varieties, grown in the plain of Domokos and kneaded with native yeasts. The tannic character of Xinomavro is tamed with just 8% Assyrtiko, with the acidity of both varieties being at high levels, while at the same time the wine impresses with the intensity and freshness of the fruit. -
Fountis Estate - Red 2019
Dry, Still, Red, Xinomavro, Ages well, 13% alc.
€19.80 As low as €18.22Typical red Naoussa which accurately reflects the dynamics of Xinomavro. The primary aromas of red fruit and tomato variety shows, dress up properly from the spicy aromatic lining that gives the barrel. Rich tannins and nice acidity nicely complement red package. -
Estate Averof - Inima Xinomavro 2019
Dry, Still, Red, Xinomavro, Ages well, 13% alc.
€14.30 As low as €13.16Katogi Averoff, although located quite far from Naoussa, manages to bring to our glasses an exceptional expression of the variety with bright fruit and botanical elements, lively acidity and noticeable tannins. It uses fruit from selected vineyards in the area and vinifies it exemplary, capturing all the typical characteristics of PDO Naoussa wines. -
Rapsani Terra Petra 2019
Dry, Still, Red, Krasato, Xinomavro, Stavroto, Ages well, 13% alc.
€18.80Apostolos Thymiopoulos is one of the most important Greek producers of the new generation! They are among those that have opened new horizons for Naoussa's Xinomavro. But it could not stay within the boundaries of a particular region. After his successful 'landing' in Santorini, he attempts to 'conquer' Rapsani. Tasting this complex and multi-faceted wine, one of the finer vineyards in the area, where Xinomavro occupies about 50%, we can already conclude!
