With these facts, and in addition to the incredible fruit condensation, Chrysabello Landidis is an interesting choice for friends of the popular grape, with very good value for money.

Rare wine from a relatively unknown Designation of Origin of our country, the PDO Messenikola in Karditsa, produced from the combination of the variety Black Mesenikola with Syrah and Carignan. It is distinguished for its extroverted aroma that refers to red fruits and flowers, its soft tannins and its harmonious aftertaste.

Dimitris Mansolas and Maria Tamiolaki, two excellent winemakers, created Hetero Wines in 2018 with the aim of producing ‘diverse’ wines from various regions of Greece. Here we have a rare combination of two great indigenous varieties, grown in the plain of Domokos and kneaded with native yeasts. The tannic character of Xinomavro is tamed with just 8% Assyrtiko, with the acidity of both varieties being at high levels, while at the same time the wine impresses with the intensity and freshness of the fruit.

Agiorgitiko and Syrah are 'crossed' in an extroverted, velvety and very good value for money red wine, which comes from vineyards at an altitude of 800 meters in the mountainous Corinthia. Its lively fruity characteristics are very kindly embraced by the elements of oak from the 8-month maturation in oak barrels and a wine arrives in our glasses ready to give us many moments of pleasure.

Stunning, limited production, dry expression of Mavrodafni from the great terroir of Egialia that raises the variety to many levels. The depth of the fruit, the lively acidity and the velvety tannins compose an excellent and multi-layered red wine.

For those who find complex, alcoholic, red wines 'tiring', Spyropoulos' Orino (mountainous) will delight with its relatively light body and pleasant fruity character. The season of the year does not play a role in this wine, since it is easy to drink both in the summer, when the temperatures hit 'red', but also in the winter, when its blend of Syrah-Agiortiko takes on the task of 'warming' you up.

At the Akratos winery in Halkidiki, they pay particular attention to the Greek varieties, so Xinomavro, the largest red variety of Northern Greece, could not be missing from their portfolio. Here we have a very affordable dimension of the variety that focuses on fruit and well-crafted tannins. A juicy Xinomavro that can be enjoyed fresh but also has the potential to get old for many years.

Mus is the third wine in the minimus series of Chloe Hadjivaryti produced with 'natural approaches'. The young winemaker is constantly experimenting and offers us wines of minimal interventions with a strong personality. Here we have a wine with characteristic freshness and fruit depth of 100% Xinomavro from the vineyard of Filiria in Goumenissa that is organically cultivated, fermented with native yeasts and matures for 4 months in oak barrels. If you want to enter the world of 'natural wines' this is a great start!
