    Dimitris Mansolas and Maria Tamiolaki, two excellent winemakers, created Hetero Wines in 2018 with the aim of producing ‘diverse’ wines from various regions of Greece. Here we have a rare combination of two great indigenous varieties, grown in the plain of Domokos and kneaded with native yeasts. The tannic character of Xinomavro is tamed with just 8% Assyrtiko, with the acidity of both varieties being at high levels, while at the same time the wine impresses with the intensity and freshness of the fruit.

    The revival of the vineyard Rapsani and the establishment as one of the most important in Greece is mainly due to Tsantalis Winery. The Grand Reserve is the leading expression of Rapsani, produced only for the very best vintages in limited quantities. Aged for 18 months in oak barrels and 18 months in the bottle, acquiring extremely rich character and robust structure and can comfortably be aged for at least a decade yet. It is no coincidence that it is amongst the 100 best wines of the world for 2015 by Wine & Spirits.

    Vissa is an impressive Xinomavro produced away from the traditional xinomavro area. It flirts with a more modern new-world style rather than the traditional style of Xinomavro. Bold red fruits such as cherry and strawberry jams, spices and vanilla from the barrel leading to a mouth with tight tannins and great fruit concentration.
