Dimitris Mansolas and Maria Tamiolaki, two excellent winemakers, created Hetero Wines in 2018 with the aim of producing ‘diverse’ wines from various regions of Greece. Here we have a rare combination of two great indigenous varieties, grown in the plain of Domokos and kneaded with native yeasts. The tannic character of Xinomavro is tamed with just 8% Assyrtiko, with the acidity of both varieties being at high levels, while at the same time the wine impresses with the intensity and freshness of the fruit.

Another rare Greek variety, so rare that it is almost exotic. The Brintzikis Estate varietal wine from a version of Avgoustiatis featuring beautiful red fruit, hints of herbal and velvety tannins. Another wonderful opportunity to explore the richness and breadth of the Greek vineyard and enjoy a soft wine with delicious fruit and elegance excess.

Route 111 is an old country road that connects Nemea and Aegialia, the regions where the two great red varieties of the Peloponnese, Agiorgitiko and Mavrodaphni, thrive. Here, the varieties create in equal proportions a complex blend of vineyards at high altitudes of these regions, giving a complex wine with fresh fruit and concentrated flavor. It is bottled unfiltered.

At the Akratos winery in Halkidiki, they pay particular attention to the Greek varieties, so Xinomavro, the largest red variety of Northern Greece, could not be missing from their portfolio. Here we have a very affordable dimension of the variety that focuses on fruit and well-crafted tannins. A juicy Xinomavro that can be enjoyed fresh but also has the potential to get old for many years.

A very nice combination of Xinomavro with Grenache and Limnio, with fruit that comes from vineyards on Mount Athos. The wine matures for 10 months in oak French barrels 300lt acquiring beautiful oak elements, which in combination with the fruity profile lead to an enjoyable and easy-to-drink red wine.

The two red varieties of Santorini, Mandilaria and Mavrotragano are vinified and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. One of the best value for money wines in Santorini. Served at 18oC.
