Hetero Wines, created by Maria Tamiolaki and Dimitris Mansolas, describes its effort as ‘Gypsy Winemaking’, ie it produces wines in different regions of Greece that have been selected for their uniqueness and wine value. Here we have an amazing Assyrtiko from vineyards that are organically grown in Domokos, which ferments with the native yeasts, remains for 5 months with its fine lees as 50% of the wine enters oak barrels of second use. It very nicely combines the austerity of the variety with its friendliest characteristics when grown outside Santorini.

Two of the most important varieties in the country, are combined and bring to our glasses a very enjoyable and special organic rosé wine of limited production. The white Assyrtiko and the red Xinomavro in a ratio of 60/40, ferment with the native yeasts and mature for a few months in oak barrels of 500 liters in the presence of the fine lees. Intense but at the same time elegant aroma that combines characteristics of both varieties.

The ‘new kid on the block’ in terms of exciting varietals, Malagousia from Alpha estate is appealing due to its stone fruit, botanical and flowery character, being a great alternative to international aromatic grape varieties.

Dimitris Mansolas and Maria Tamiolaki, two excellent winemakers, created Hetero Wines in 2018 with the aim of producing ‘diverse’ wines from various regions of Greece. Here we have a rare combination of two great indigenous varieties, grown in the plain of Domokos and kneaded with native yeasts. The tannic character of Xinomavro is tamed with just 8% Assyrtiko, with the acidity of both varieties being at high levels, while at the same time the wine impresses with the intensity and freshness of the fruit.

A beautiful and extremely popular rosé. It arises from the variety Syrah, so it is characterized by spicy aromas in the nose and mouth. This is a rosé with a great range of food flavor combinations.

The varelato Thrapsathiri the varietal of wine is yellow pear aromas of green apple, orange, with hints of vanilla and distinct aromas of barrel. Cool and crisp flavor, excellent acidity and a spicy and fruity aftertaste, is wine that can accompany a wide range of dishes.

Vidiano is considered to be the next big thing in the Greek market. This indigenous Cretan variety bears a Marsanne/Roussanne-like character, reminiscent of apricots, pears, vanilla notes with an oily-soft texture.

A true pleasure for the eyes with beautiful salmon color! A.muse is light, fruity, smooth, lively and elegant. Ideal to accompany fresh seafood, sushi, salad and vegetable pies.

It is everything its name says: 100% Crispy Assyrtiko Old Bush Vines Wild Fermented. The Mouson Estate manages to give to this mainland Assyrtiko, island nerve and northern Greece spirt. Rich and playful, well-crafted and mind-blowing, it will become one of the best value selections of the variety.

At the Navitas winery, from the very first steps, they have managed to create a wonderful Malagouzia that takes the variety to another level. A wine with a refreshing but at the same time elegant aroma, with a pronounced acidity that refreshes and with a very nice harmonious aftertaste. A Single vineyard Chardonnay from the brand new Navitas winery of Maria Dimitriadis, located in Litochoro overlooking the 52 peaks of Olympus.
