Average gold with moderately aromatic nose of which with the passage of time emerge peel citrus aromas and hints of mineral. Dry mouth, a rich feel of alcohol in good balance but the acidity. Intense the mineral mouthfeel, full body and clean aftertaste. Ready to drink, but it is interesting and after two to three years of stay in the bottle.

Varietal Composition: 100% Chidiriotiko grapes

Production Techniques: Fermentation at a temperature of 19° C , in order to enhance varietal aromas, instead of the 16° C applied to most white wines.

Characteristics: Hay-colored. Bouquet combining muscat with tones of flowers and citrus fruit. Although dry, Methymnaeos white has a sherry-like sweetness to its taste. Minerality strongly evocative of sulfur, abundant in the volcanic soil of Lesvos.

Serving Suggestions: Serve chilled with smoked goods, fish and seafood, as well as white confections.

Η μεγάλη έκπληξη είναι το Μεθυμναίος λευκό, από την ίδια ποικιλία, σε οινοποίηση blanc de noir. Το 2011, στους 13,50°, με μύτη τσακμακόπετρας και πλούσιο, ορυκτώδες στόμα, είναι ένα ενδιαφέρον κρασί με όγκο, σύσταση και πυκνότητα. Δίχως να έχει περάσει από βαρέλι διαθέτει το σώμα μιας καλής Σαντορίνης, με την οποία έχει κοινά χαρακτηριστικά. Κρίμα που παράγεται σε τόσο μικρές ποσότητες, αφού το σύνολο της παραγωγής του Μεθυμναίου (ερυθρά και λευκά μαζί), δεν ξεπερνούν τις 20.000 φιάλες.
