Anniversary Vinsanto from the Gaia Estate aged for 20 years in 4th use or older barrels

Another jewel in the crown of greek sweet wines that placed Greece on the global radar. A great attempt by the estate to give us a Vinsanto, accompanied by a twist on the traditional style of wine and took eight years to get in the bottle. Complexity, richness and balance all in one bottle of 500ml.

PDO sweet wine from the Monemvasia variety where the grapes are collected overripe and then they are sun-dried to dehydrate under the Cycladic sun. The result is a condensed balanced sweet wine, maturing for 2 years in oak barrels, with a heady aroma and taste. It accompanies pleasantly sweet desserts and cheese varieties.

1st in score rating (98/100) among 18,093 of the Decanter Competition 2021! One of the greatest sweet wines, not only of Greece but of all of Europe. A Vinsanto that has been aged for at least 16 years in the cellars of the Argyros Estate in Santorini with unimaginable complexity and very nicely balanced sweetness that comes from vines of over 200 years old. It is worth every euro you will spend to get it!
