The large wooden barrels that were traditionally used in Santorini were called Αfoura. This exceptional Santorini expression of Anhydrous, signed by Apostolos Mountrihas, has matured in such barrels. Having acquired a mature and complex character and capturing with great precision the special characteristics of the island, it has already won a place among the great Santorinian Wines.

Sophisticated white wine based on Assyrtiko of Santorini. Vinified in wooden tanks and aged for one year in the barrel, it gives us a more spicy dimension of Santorini which is of great interest and offers us countless options of combinations at the table.

Gentle nose full of minerality and the characteristic, for Assyrtiko of Santorini, flint. Notes of ripe stone fruit and tart citrus. Mouth rich, exuberant with finesse and razor sharp acidity. Long aftertaste with saltiness and minerality. Decanting into a carafe is recommended to allow the wine to breathe and open up in order to bring out its complex character.

After Epanomi, Kavala and Ilia, Vangelis Gerovasileiou and Vassilis Tsaktsarlis arrive in Santorini where they meet the oenologist Ioanna Vamvakouris and create the Mikra Thira winery, the first attempt made in Thirasia. This is a stunning wine made from 100% Assyrtiko grapes from Santorini that reflects all the characteristics of this unique terroir. Sharp acidity, structure, minerality, citrus and saltiness!

Its color is light lemon-green. Its aromas are citrusy with an emphasis on lemon, grapefruit and orange peel, followed by notes of peach, pear, gunpowder-like minerality and touches of green tea. The mouth is very complex and balanced with its acidity being very high, the minerals being intense and the aftertaste living us a feel of freshly squeezed lemonade. It is one of the wines that can evolve for at least a decade.

Haridimos Hatzidakis intervenes as little as possible in this wine of very small production, trying to capture as clearly as possible what the land of Santorini can offer. Organically grown grapes, indigenous yeasts, minimal intervention philosophy in the winery and a wonderful expression of the uniqueness of the island's terroir.
